Best moments of The Walking Dead season 5 premiere!

The Walking Dead season 5 premiered yesterday and all I can say is… WOW. What an amazing way to start the season! I usually like to point out the good and the bad but… the whole episode was GOOD… really GOOD. Since I have no complaints, I want to share with you my favorite moments of "No Sanctuary". Here we go:

1. "The Cattle" scene - This scene? Talk about intense! My heart was beating so fast! I almost believed they were going to kill Glenn.... almost... I've seen multiple reviews criticizing that this scene was too on the nose, too obvious.... since good timing is what basically saved the main characters... but... I LOVED it. I thought it was a great tense, scary scene. It accomplished what I want from The Walking Dead, which is lots of suspense and making me care about these characters. The fact that the most bad-ass male characters in the show where all vulnerable at the same time was a great way to put all of us at the edge of our seats. Best part though? Carol saving their asses...

Nope....

DON'T YOU FREAKING DARE HIT GLENN!!!

Don't you dare....

NOOO!! GLENNNN!! Don't d... oh... phew!

2. CAROL!!!!!!!! – Holy crap! Carol kicked some serious ass! She was AMAZING!! She took charge! She knew she had to save her group, her family, and she did everything in her power to do so. From covering herself with walker guts and blood to sneaking into the Terminus compound like an awesome ninja...

It is a great moisturizer too...

...to blowing up a gas tank with ONE firework... which sent flaming Walkers in the air...

Talk about good aim....

... to showing Terminus Mary who's BOSS....

Come and get it walkers!

Carol was simply amazing! And it is so great to see her character develop in such a great way. From season 1 where she was a scared, insecure housewife to her transformation in season 4 to an independent, confident, kick-ass warrior. I am really looking forward to her journey this season, but for now, Carol is my new hero.

3. Hey! Is that guy! - Do you remember Sam? You know, that guy Carol and Rick thought was dead? Well, he was alive!! Unfortunately, he ended up as cattle for Terminus... It was awesome to see him back in the show! What a treat for the fans!

Of course, at first I didn't recognize he was Sam... I recognized him as Oswald Cobblepot from Gotham...

But I digress...

4. Gareth vs Rick - Both of them had great chemistry throughout the episode. Gareth has that smug look that makes you want to punch him in the face and Rick is ready to do it. You can totally feel it. Although at the end, it looks like Rick killed him, I have this bad feeling that he will come back... Remember... in TWD no one is dead until you see the body...

Come at me bro....

5. Tyreese got his mojo back -At the beginning of the episode, we see a defeated Tyreese... a man that can't even kill walkers anymore. But... everything changes when that douche-bag from Terminus enters the picture... That guy kept poking and poking at Tyreese's patience for a long time, but when he threatened helpless baby Judith?

That's when the Tyreese we all love and respect comes back with a bang. After killing what looked like at least five walkers with his bare hands, yes... without any weapons, Tyreese puts that a-hole in his place!

I guess we all learned a valuable lesson... don't EVER make Tyreese angry... EVER.

6. The Reunion - Finally! The moment we've all been waiting for! The group is back together! Minus Beth of course... But... the reunion was so sweet, it almost had me in tears. That moment Rick realizes that Judith is alive? And thanks Tyreese by just nodding at him?

Right in the feels...

So many feels...

How about Sasha realizing her brother is alive?

It was great to see everybody come together as a group again. You can really see how this group is no longer a few strangers surviving together, they are a FAMILY. But, the best reunion? You know it...

7. Caryl!!! - Best scene of the whole episode... hands down. Amazing acting from Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. I really enjoy the moments in The Walking Dead where the characters don't say anything, they just express their emotions through their face expressions and body language. That is exactly what happened in this scene and it was absolutely touching and beautiful.

I know a lot of people have been shipping them for a long time, but I don't see their relationship as a romantic one. I see them as really good friends. Friends that have supported each other during their most vulnerable moments. To see each other again means that their support is back, their friend is back. Also, how sweet was it when she took his crossbow?

That's what friends are for.

8. Baby Judith's WTF face - Listen... I know she is just a baby but... that moment when everybody gets together at the end? Baby Judith's face showed just confusion... Who are these people? Where's daddy Tyreese and mommy Carol? I thought it was hilarious that she nailed that expression to near perfection....

9. Eugene is all of us - They manage to escape that awful, dirty wagon. They are running to the fence to finally get the hell out of Terminus and that's when I realized, I am Eugene... we are all Eugene...

Quickly,,, just blend in with the bad-asses...

Oh hell no!

10. MORGAAAANNNN!!!! - Morgan is back!! What?!?! YES!! Yes, he is! And he looks... good! He looks sane and healthy... Has he been following Rick this whole time? Why is he so put together? Why did he leave his awesome house of traps behind? Aaaahhh! So many questions!!!! What a great cliffhanger!

"No Sanctuary" was what all season premieres should be and more. It had action, suspense, horror, drama, all in one. Great make up and special effects. A story that made sense and an ending that will keep me anxiously waiting for the next episode. Our heroes were awesome and the villains got what they deserved. It was excellent. Now, while we wait for next Sunday, let's start making this a reality:
